PATHETIC: Trudeau Government Tries Blaming Conservatives For U.S. Backlash To Khadr Payday

Trudeau continues trying to evade responsibility for his horrendous decision, and is trying to blame the Conservatives for his own potential failure in upcoming NAFTA renegotiations.

The Trudeau government continues showing their pathetic unwillingness to take responsibility for the consequences of giving Omar Khadr $10.5 million, instead of fighting against paying him.

One of those consequences is that anger is spreading in the United States as Americans learn that Trudeau purposefully gave Khadr the payment in a way that denied Tabitha Speer and Layne Morris any chance of getting the money.

You would think that the Trudeau government – who claim to be up to date with modern communication trends – would recognize that word about such a horrible decision would spread throughout the United States soon enough. That’s exactly what happened. Word spread through social media, and reports on TV and in print soon followed. And the more people who heard about it, the more outrage there is about how Trudeau put the interests of Omar Khadr ahead of the interests of justice and our closest ally.

What did Justin Trudeau think would happen?

Did he really think people in the U.S. would be glad to see the Trudeau government make a multi-millionaire out of somebody who fought for Al Qaeda and admitted to killing an American military service member and injuring another?

Any half-decent leader would at least take responsibility for their own decision. But of course, that’s not what Trudeau has done.

Instead, he sent out his people to blame the Conservatives.

Pathetic.
As reported by the Globe & Mail, “Senior Liberals are suggesting the federal Conservatives’ cross-border campaign against the Trudeau government’s $10.5-million payout to Omar Khadr could affect trade talks with the Trump administration. Environment Minister Catherine McKenna and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s principal secretary, Gerald Butts, both used social media to connect the Conservatives’ condemnation of the Khadr payment with the renegotiation of the North American free-trade agreement, set to start on Aug. 16 in Washington.”
That’s a disgraceful and pathetic effort on the part of the Trudeau government. Not only is it incredibly dishonest, but it also shows they are deeply afraid of the upcoming NAFTA negotiations. They are preparing a strategy of blaming any damaging failure on their part in the negotiations on the Conservatives.

If the negotiations end up severely hurting certain Canadian industries, the Trudeau Liberals will blame it on the Conservatives for talking about Omar Khadr.

It’s disgraceful, and we need to call the lying Trudeau government out for it.

Here are the facts:

Trudeau decided to give Khadr $10.5 million.
Trudeau decided to award it to Khadr in a way that would block Tabitha Speer and Layne Morris from being able to stop it – which anyone with a shred of sense could realize would enrage our friends to the south.
And Trudeau decided to evade responsibility for his decision with a shifting set of garbage excuses and lies.
Trudeau is responsible for the Khadr payment. Full stop.
Therefore, he is responsible for the consequences.
If that ends up hurting Canada in NAFTA renegotiations, that is 100% the fault of Justin Trudeau. He had a choice. He could have made a different decision. He could have fought the payment. he could have stood with the overwhelming majority of Canadians who oppose rewarding Khadr.
Instead, Trudeau made a different choice, and now all Canadians could pay the price. We must make sure something like this never happens again, and that means spreading the truth about Trudeau’s despicable strategy of blame and deflection.
It also means insuring he and his lying government are decisively defeated in 2019.
Otherwise, his betrayal of Canada, his betrayal of our values, and his betrayal of the interests of the Canadian people will continue unchecked – with seriously damaging consequences for all of us.
