“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the

voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the

path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source

of terror to all its citizens and creates a country

where everyone lives in fear."

In Their Own Words by Clare Lopez

In an unusual move, one of the suspects in the 2012-13 Via Railway terror plot has been allowed to give an interview to the Canadian National Post. That interview is remarkable because it explains the jihadist motivations behind the plot in clear and unambiguous language that leaves no room for doubt about "why they hate us." Those who would confront and defeat this hate and the terror plots it inspires would do well to listen to the words of Chiheb Esseghaier.

Radical Islam is on the March in Canada
Two terror trials unfolding on Canadian soil should cause enough concern over the spread of radical Islam in Canada. Both Chiheb Esseghaier and Dr. Khurram Sher, the pathologist and former Canadian Idol contestant, have openly ranted against Canada. But there’s also another more insidious form of Islamism at play in Canadian universities and public institutions that some of us may shrug off as innocuous.

Oh, CANADA! Censoring free speech is beneath a great country like yours
Speaking the truth about Islam is now considered ‘hate propaganda’ in Canada. A Christian Pastor was threatened with arrest at the Canadian/Washington border for carrying Islam-related materials . It has become popular to accuse anyone who disagrees with you and label him as a person of hate.  Just disagreeing with someone’s views does not equal hate. If disagreement is hate speech, then, every politician should be arrested and fined!
The Dumbing-Down of Due Diligence at Canada's Huron College
This article was written by Barbara Kay in May 2011 but is very fitting in relation to what is happening presently at Huron.
For various reasons, some quite innocent, many Western universities are keen to establish Islamic Studies programs on their campuses. And for various other reasons, some quite pernicious, Islamist organizations are keen to see Islamic Studies programs established at Western universities. To this end, allegedly to foster "understanding" of Islam, the latter are eager to establish Islamic Studies programs with boodle of such heft and shininess that salivating committees tasked with the decision of whether to accept or refuse the gift throw caution to the winds
Free Speech Alert: Islam Rips Ever Deeper Into Europe
As a wild beast would pull its prey closer to guard it from other predators, Islam is sinking its barbed paws ever deeper into the heart of the European Union (EU). Right under the radar of the EU, the European Parliament is considering a proposal that requires the direct surveillance of any EU citizen suspected of being “intolerant.”
The Folly of Open Borders
Western governments and human rights organizations seem to treat the huge influx of illegal immigrants as some kind of natural disaster, something that will pass. It’s not. It’s an ongoing process, which keeps getting worse and worse. Europe’s misfortune is that it is situated right at the doorstep of the world’s most dysfunctional continent – Africa – and the world’s most dysfunctional cultural sphere, the Islamic world.

No fewer that eight individuals have been charged under the Espionage Act since Obama became president, compared with three during Bush’s two terms. While 2012 was in part the year of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, 2013 will be remembered for the National Security Agency computer specialist Edward Snowden, who exposed the mass surveillance methods developed by the US intelligence agencies.

If the freedom of speech is ever fully extinguished in the United States, as it could be far more easily than most people think, the responsibility will lie to a tremendous degree with those who should have been its foremost guardians: the mainstream media.
The FBI’s Two Faces on US Terror Compounds
During the 1980s and 1990s, federal law enforcement authorities considered Jamaat al-Fuqra to be one of the most active domestic terrorist groups in the country. Operating in the U.S. as “Muslims of America,” annual State Department terrorism reports up until Sept. 11, 2001 described the group as “an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence.” Dozens of Fuqra members have been arrested for more than a dozen murders, firebombings, gun running, drug trafficking, defrauding government agencies, amongst other crimes. In 1993, the Anti-Defamation League published a report chronicling the group’s continuing terror campaign.  In this media atmosphere, law enforcement officials are wary of conducting investigations that the media is quick to characterize as “Islamophobic” or even racist.
How Al Qaeda Is Winning the War on Terror
Al Qaeda has crowdsourced terrorism to domestic “lone wolf” attackers like the Tsarnaev brothers and Nidal Hasan. Most of the attacks have failed, but as the Boston Marathon massacre reminds us, they only need to succeed once and Al Qaeda doesn’t lose any money or resources on them if they fail. Its vision for Islamic terrorism in America is a domestic franchise, Al Qaeda in America, made up of American Muslims who are young, online and blend easily into a crowd the way the Tsarnaevs did.
Iran Hangs Well-Loved Human Rights Activist, Poet
“I started my journey wielding my pen against the tyranny that is trying to enslave and imprison minds and thoughts …”  Shabaani continued, “I have tried to defend the legitimate right that every people in this world should have which is the right to live freely with full civil rights. With all these miseries and tragedies, I have never used a weapon to fight these atrocious crimes except the pen.”
Life and Death in Northern Europe by Bruce Bawer
I understand the issue of lack of space, but there’s nowhere on earth where this is less of a problem than at the northernmost tip of Norway, so this isn’t about that. What it’s about, it seems to me, is what the Danish slaughter of Marius the giraffe, the Belgian eagerness to institute childhood euthanasia, and the Norwegian enthusiasm for cancer patients who refuse to burden the system are also about: namely, a well-nigh fetishistic preoccupation with the quality of life and the cycle of life that coexists, perversely, with a chillingly insufficient sense of the value – the preciousness – of the individual life (and, as a corollary, of the sacredness of the remains of the dead).
