This week—at any time—the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on its comprehensive immigration reform legislation.

Though an amendment that supposedly strengthens the national security aspect of the bill recently passed in the Senate, it doesn’t achieve what its supporters say it does. And it certainly does not do enough to assure that our borders are secure and that our government has a firm grasp on who is entering our country and who is leaving it—before we grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) National Council President, Chris Crane has said, “this bill fails to address the problems which have led to the nation’s broken immigration system and in fact will only serve to worsen current immigration problems.”

Further, the 1,200-page bill was very difficult to understand at the outset. Now that over 500 of its pages have been amended, it is even more confusing. The U.S. Congress should not be voting on legislative language that it doesn’t understand. (Click HERE to see a photo of the immigration bill, with tabs noting all the most recent changes, to get an idea of its complexity.)

Immigration reform is too big of an issue, and too important to the security of our nation, to be used as a political ploy. An immigration reform bill should not be rammed through the U.S. Congress quickly, and in one gigantic bill. We’ve seen that done before and we know how that turned out.

We need a common-sense, incremental approach to this important issue.

Your U.S. Senators are gearing up to vote on this disastrous bill and it’s very important that they hear from you—the person they represent—before they do so.

Again, a vote on this bill will occur at any time. Can we count on you TODAY to help stop this fast-paced, non-transparent, approach to immigration reform by taking a minute to CALL YOUR U.S. SENATORS TO REGISTER YOUR OPPOSITION TO THE CURRENT SENATE IMMIGRATION BILL?

If you don’t get through the first time, please keep trying!

It will only take a moment of your time, but when your voice is joined by the 260,000 other grassroots activists that make up ACT! for America, I assure you, it will cause quite a roar.

** IMPORTANT AND TIME-SENSITIVE ACTION **

TODAY, please call the Washington, DC office of your TWO U.S. Senators.

Respectfully, but firmly, tell them that you are a constituent and are opposed to the Senate’s current comprehensive immigration bill.

Tell them that you would like them to vote NO when it comes before them on the Senate floor.

Remind them that you will be watching to see how they vote.

If the line is busy, keep trying until you get through!

Thank you for all that you do. With your help, we ARE making a difference.
REMEMBER, YOUR VOICE COUNTS!
IF EACH OF US DOES JUST A LITTLE, TOGETHER WE CAN
ACCOMPLISH A LOT!
