OUR TROOPS ARE COMING HOME - BUT THE WAR AIN'T OVER ≈≈≈ YOU ARE INVITED The United West Presents "FLORIDA SALUTES OUR UNITED STATES MILITARY" (William Temple) ≈≈≈ The United West and a coalition of Florida Leaders, organizations and citizens will join together on January 10, 2012 at the State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida for a patriotic program honoring our United States Military and promoting American values of freedom and liberty. We owe our men and women who have served and are currently serving in the United States Military a debt of gratitude. Please join with us January 10th in support of our troops both active duty and retired, their families and orphaned children. The overriding objective of this exciting program is to support the troops and educate Floridians on National Security issues. Our goal is to honor the bravery, sacrifices and work of our men and women in uniform who take extraordinary risks to protect our freedoms here at home. In stark contrast to our program of supporting the troops, other organizations, including Occupy Wall Street activists from across Florida, will be convening on the State Capitol on January 10th to petition their elected representatives and selfishly demand that Florida provide their needs. All citizens have the right to seek redress from our legislature. However, our coalition of patriots is joining together to honor those who have selflessly suffered and sacrificed to ensure that these very freedoms and liberties...will continue to be enjoyed by all Floridians. With your proactive participation we can show the world that our pro-American message of supporting our troops, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is first and foremost the duty and responsibility of not just our military but of all Americans. The United West has secured the 22nd floor of the Capitol building to present a powerful and moving event for all who attend. ≈≈≈ CONFIRMED SPEAKERS Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin, U.S. Army (Ret.) Former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, member of the Delta Force and Commander of Special Forces units. Lt. Gen. Boykin holds the Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit recipient, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, two Purple Hearts. Colonel Ben Knisley, U.S. Army (Ret.) former MIA - The Wounded Warrior Project Colonel Benjamin “Gentle Ben” Knisely was nominated for the DUSTOFF Hall of Fame (Army aeromedical evacuation program) based on his heroic actions in the Vietnam War and his career-long contributions to AMEDD aviation and our DUSTOFF tradition. From surviving in the jungles of RVN for three days with a broken ankle and severe burns, to his last job as USCENTCOM Deputy Surgeon for General Schwarzkopf during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Ben has been a key contributor to the DUSTOFF Legacy and has set the standard for DUSTOFF aviators. Capt. Harry T. Chaires (ret) - One Brave Marine Armed Security Contractor One Brave Marine is a protective service business owned by Harry T. Chaires, Nanna H. Cuchens-Chaires, and Hannah E. Chaires. Harry retired in 2005 after 40 years with LCSO, during which he served as Homicide Commander, Traffic Commander, and Special Operations Bureau Commander. Harry and Nan created One Brave Marine to honor the memory of their son, LCPl Daniel B. Chaires who was killed in action in Al Anbar Iraq in 2006. David Beamer Father of Todd Beamer September 11, 2001 passenger on Flight 93, who said “Let’s Roll” in the first offensive operation in the Great War on Terror. Patricia Sullivan and The Tea Party Network Patricia Sullivan, co-founder of the North Lake Tea Party, has lived in Florida since 1973 was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2007 by the Florida State 4-H Youth Development Program, she has served in 4-H since 2002. Patricia is also founder and president of the Lake County 4-H Foundation, which secures scholarship resources for leadership camps and other youth activities. Also a home schooler she knows the importance of local, not federal, control over education.
